Joris is Europeana’s Community Coordinator Cultural Heritage. He works with partners from the cultural heritage sector to build and strengthen their relationships and to help them to get real value out of their collaborations with Europeana. Joris can also often be heard waxing lyrical about the merits of open data.
Joris has studied theatre, film, new media and digital heritage studies in both Utrecht and Amsterdam. Before joining Europeana, he worked at the Open Knowledge Foundation and co-founded the OpenGLAM Network that promotes free and open access to digital cultural heritage. He continues to coordinate the OpenGLAM working group.
