Vera Kriezi is Head of the Cataloging Department and Technical Services-System Librarian at the Friends of Music Society, Music Library of Greece “Lilian Voudouri”.
Vera is responsible for overseeing the library’s cataloging system for their collection of books, serial publications, documents, audiovisual, and digital materials. She develops and implements strategies that enhance the use of the main catalogue, along with the digital collections and metadata schemas. Her job also involves maintaining the integrity of the library’s databases and digital repositories as well as improving policies to make collections more efficient for the end-users.
Vera has studied Librarianship and Information Systems in Greece and has a masters degree in Information Management from the University of West Scotland. Over the last 15 years, she has worked as a librarian and then as Head of the Technical Services Department. Her main concern is providing quality services to patrons and developing top-notch services for end-users. She is heavily involved in national and international digitisation projects concerning music and cultural heritage and this is where Europeana comes in!
